The artist 'border: Chronicles of a hyper-futuristic world.

Apocalyptic morbid fiction: the art of Hans Ruedi Giger is a tribute to the imagination and hyper post-industrial. No coincidence that the Swiss is a versatile artist whiz special effects and won the Oscar in 1980 thanks to its Alien (homonymous and famous Ridley Scott).

Of him a writer and psychologist Timothy Leary wrote: "Chronicles scientifically precise, the work of Giger has upset for its huge size and evolutionary spectral seems" because, as in the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch decomposed, recomposed and decomposed again reality, vivisection and giving birth to mutants, aliens, androgynous-colored steel.

Born in Chur (Switzerland) in 1940. She loves clothes blacks, dark cellars and the circus. In the 60s he attended the School of Crafts in Zurich and magazines began to publish his drawings, ink drawings, called Atomkinder (Children atomic). To this period belong the earliest works in polyester and worked at the office of Andreas Christen. Li Tobler know that you love and to be his companion until the tragic death in 1975. Thanks to the painter Bob Venosa (who by Salvador Dali introduced him to Alexandro Jodorowsky, author of the films El Topo and Holy Mountain), Giger's work gets the job in the film Dune en el 1977 he commissioned to create the monster for the film sci-fi horror Alien by Dan O 'Bannon. My Bonzanigo know who would become his wife. After drawing in three months thirty images for the project Alien for Ridley Scott goes to England to complete the staging. The sketches and drawings for the film are exposed first to Zurich, then in Lausanne. After the success of Alien starts working for the movie Poltergeist II (directed by Brian Gibson). In the late '80s, exhibited several paintings in Tokyo, the Seibu Seed Hall of the Museum of Art in 2000 people attended. Giger continues to work on the series NY City, resulting from several visits to New York. In the '90s Giger began work on the HR Giger Museum, a house-museum in the town of Gruyere (Switzerland).

The surreal and symbolic art of Giger was able to influence a number of aesthetic trends of the twentieth century. The artist has also designed album covers some of the history of Rock and worked with leading magazines of the '70s, his art, in short, artificial and genetically modified, has "injected" with its extreme provocation, in new creative languages 'collective imagination of 900.
