Gabriele Marchesi

He has always dedicated to the painting activity. He was born in the ‘50es in Vidigulfo. At the primary school his natural inclination to art emerged and his teacher encouraged him to illustrate tales and poetries that the class was reading. From these drawings that have recently been recovered you can notice the great talent of the little boy.

As he couldn’t afford further studies, he continued as a self-taught. He attended a course of painting and drawing in the ‘80es at Castello di Milano and an evening class on drawing in Fabio Aguzzi’s study, who’s a successful artist now to deepen the technique field.

In the ‘70es he started participating at some national competitions where he obtained good feedbacks and at the first exhibitions.

His works developed and reached a poetic and involving super-realism supported by the use of colored pencils on fine papers.

The year 2000 was the decisive turning point.
Noticing that “Advertisement is a form of art too” and started studying and analyzing the advertising pictures that he found on reviews, magazines and on the internet. He elaborated them with graphite and enriched them with high level graphic solutions that give elegance to the images. Then he worked on the series “ANGELS OF OUR DAYS”, where an elegant female shape is investigated and experienced to reach its essence.

The artist’s recent challenges allow him to take on a new lease of life.
