Doriana Capenti

Doriana Capenti was born in 1980 in Macerata. After completing the high school specializing in classical studies she attended the Facoltà di Storia e Conservazione dei Beni Culturali (Faculty of history and conservation of cultural goods) at the University of Macerata and got a degree in History of contemporary art.

She worked as a volunteer in the social and cultural field, he attended the courses of Istituto Superiore di Fotografia e Comunicazione Integrata (Integrate High Institute for Photography and Communication) in Rome, where she deepened some techniques and languages of the photographic expression. She studied and worked in the cultural and artistic field in Lione (Ecole Normale Supérieure, 2005), Paris (Musée du Louvre, 2009), and Ancona (Festival Internazionale Adriatico Mediterraneo, 2010). 

Since 2007 she cooperates with the International Cultural Association Countries of art, which promotes the contemporary art of the Countries of Latin America, and with which she exhibited some photos of hers (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Cuba).

She published "Pasaje por las Californias" (Passage to California) a reportage about the western frontier between Mexico and United States, on photo and information journals such as Witness Journal (March 2009) and Altri (“Others” in March 2010). This photos were exhibited in the province of Ancona and Rom. The article related to the reportage was among the finalists at the Journalist prize Claudio Accardi in 2009.

The reportage “The taranta” was broadcasted from the TV program Mediterraneo (Rai3 TV) in March 2010.
