The beautiful geometry of Sol LeWitt is one of the best seductions of contemporary art

If there is a God who created the world probably was a skilled surveyor, a scholar of perfect forms, if and to create before you create a project and had an idea of his future work, this certainly to be understood, needed teams, rulers, protractors, levels and all the ascending and descending gradations of colors.

A round the world, broken, yet round, oval and then filled with ellipses, parallel lines and color schemes: all that the eye like, God would put in his work-world, as an end psychologist who likes to seduce perception. If God exists is surely this: a little 'psychologist and a bit' surveyor. LeWitt certainly is not God but he understood the mechanism of the pleasure of the gaze. He is also a bit 'psychologist and a bit' surveyor, plus a bit 'Peter Pan syndrome that does not hurt.

All this, by interlocking megacostruzioni that scatters through the rooms where he shows, the abundance from the garden, in terms of school can be called conceptual minimalism, but somehow not very different from what nature pushes the child to do just fails to manipulate, write, paint: it is built of beautiful shapes, colors available, it is fascinating.

The cubes, pyramids, pinnacles glittering baroque red fire, canary yellow, emerald green. The graphic reworkings continuously repeated, the desire to connect with the tradition of exploring it and distort it but in a playful dotted and dotted with towers, with the perfect forms in dialogue with the surrounding environment, with a light-hearted desire to make art with elements apparently simpler, but that ultimately show up as refined intellectual sophistication.

Play dice, in Shanghai, dominoes or an artist spreading rainbows on the walls. There is also a big difference, provided the spirit and driving, young and light enough ...
