The Pole Dance: alchemical, seductive and voluptuous form of expression of the female body
The Pole Dance relies on the complicity of a steel pole to allow the execution of complex, sinuous acrobatic figures and the creation of articulated artistic choreography designed to involve, entertain, create original geometric suggestions, aimed at strengthening of strength and stamina, at muscle development and at the fluid, harmonious and sensual coordination of movements.
The body as a beating readymade.
Second accomplice who inspires the Pole Dance: music. Wrapping, penetrating sounds, insistent syncopated rhythms, harmonies that involve the performer, who performs leaps, asymmetric acrobatics, spatial suspension, muscle vibration, hyperboles; naughty three-dimensional figures that confuse and enhance the adrenalin, releasing the accumulated tension to create a new different, charming, seductive, disturbing one.
Thrilling dance that requires constant physical exercise, technique, muscle ease, grace, improvisation, mastery of one's own body. Categorical imperative: to shape the desire. The body is the focus of the expressive language, of the individual personality, of untapped potentialities; the perfomer has the chance to surprise, amaze, confuse, exalt, with each individual performance, their discreet and discerning public.
We like to remember Mr. Arthur Charleston, who was the first promoter of the Pole Dance as a form of public spectacle. The idea came to him in Lapland, a region of Finland, where he noticed some Laplanders perform harmonious dance around poles planted on the ground.
Over time, the contemporary Pole Dance has evolved and improved: often, for example, the fixed pole is replaced with a pole rotating on its axis for better grip and to perfect the movements of the body. The performances have reached unthinkable levels of executive perfection and artistic depth; clear is the contamination of the Pole Dance with modern, classical, ritual dance and dance theater.
Pole Dance, the concrete possibility for every woman to express herself, her womanhood, her own plastic truths, her own emotional and sensual personality by simply dancing, freeing the body, restoring the physical dimension of the intense relationship between gesture and action, passion and desire, creating allegorical and symbolic figures who invade and mark the space and celebrate the lust.
