The irony is imbued with vibrant energy and imagination of an artist's world city

When you have a surname like that of Timour not be easy to choose the same path as your father, that Wifredo Lam, Cuban artist, whose works are part of the History of Art with capital letters.

Ceramics, paper mache, paintings, graphics: Timour Lam (Zurich, 1962), love skiing as a citizen of the world, not just the latter, but also art, which often gives the irony, fantasy. A touch different from the rough, scratchy and primitive father.

I turned on the colors of the works on celluloid (Timour in the 80s had approached the school of Walt Disney in California) and his naive and humanized stylized trees, which attract a poetic and emotional, we might say, "green". The bright colors are laid on the surface of the ceramics from the top down and the fantasy of Timour Lam seems pregnant with vibrant energy of comics and cartoons.

Are you a cosmopolitan living a deep connection, like your father, with Albissola Marina, with Liguria ...

I love to travel and here Albissola we had a house for many years. I have some dear friends to me when I come home in Liguria, also realize my work at St George Ceramics and many albisolese help me to organize exhibitions and events, as the staff that I made in September. I love to travel and still have homes in Paris, the United States, Mexico. I can not stop for more than three or four months in the same place.

Forthcoming exhibitions?

I am organizing an exhibition in Paris and Miami.

What techniques do you use?

First, the ceramic and glazed earthenware and then scratched, then the cardboard with which I have made several trees, also I attempt with paintings and engravings on celluloid, even on stainless steel spoons.

Trees appear often in your creations. Why choose this subject?

Because there is nothing more beautiful than the trees that are often not leave enough space.

In your catalog is a beautiful picture that dates back to 1972. We Albissola Marina, Wifredo Lam will hold your hand and you look indifferent to the goal. I must ask you a question on the relationship with your father ...

Initially it was a living and a report quite confrontational, especially when I was very young, then gradually the corners are rounded and our relationship has improved a lot. He and my mother (a painter) I definitely my love for art.
