The values of a poetic and imaginative figurative painting: discovering the inexhaustible imagination of an artist.

Francesco Musante is a poet-magician inexhaustible imagination, a skilled trainer of elephants, greedy eater panettone, thief moons. Taunting a vibrant sense of intoxication and dizziness with his spells in the night dancing. Juggler of words and images-tales.

In the paintings of Francesco Musante always appears a date: February 17, which is the date of his birth, accompanied by a year chosen at random.

Francesco Musante is the author of the watercolor reproduced on my bookmark favorite for more than eight years with me in all my readings. The interview.

The protagonist of his paintings is surrounded by famous friends. Pablo (a bit 'is Pablo Neruda, a bit' is Pablo Picasso), Marc (Chagall), Paul (Klee) and Joan (Miro). By what criteria these friends so romantic, dreamer? Am I an inspiration?

They are my favorite! They are poets and artists I love and in my paintings I have total freedom to talk to them my alter ego painting.

With Chagall in particular there are many points of contact. The prospect aside, the characters flying, the atmosphere that is both dreamy and naive sometimes. However, compared to Chagall, the world described by you seems to have more defined boundaries, sharper.

What unites us is a symbol imbued with allegorical meanings, the opera world. Of course, different from mine, his allegories are also linked to the Jewish world. The figures stand out flying well into the night, as always I paint my moons (which sometimes magically become even slices of lemon, ed.)

Bravely, she defends the values of a poetic and imaginative figurative painting.

I believe in painting made with the brush! The painting is here: take the brush in his hand and smeared with color. I am now almost forty years I do this job. I have seen so many movements, many young players come and disappear into thin air. But if we are going to take Guttuso, Morandi, Miro, Chagall ... remains true painting! As for art in general, today's top choices are the gallery owners, critics, collectors then make them. Of course, taxes are now so many choices, first by critics who have the power to move the museum. My work is clearly limited to the public that likes my style.
