Secrets of the fantasy world of Eugenia Garavaglia Creatures from the soft shapes suspended in the air, bits of delightful stories. These are the characters created by Eugenia Garavaglia, a young artist of Magenta. Female figures and animals that make fabulous and dreamy glimpse of a fantasy world out of reach. I asked Eugene how to create his works. What do your characters have in common? Most of my characters are women or rounded creatures. Arise from a curved line that intersects and is laid on different media, are well-rounded and reassuring ending in subtle end. How has your time in artistic research? My artistic career began at an early age I was sitting on a lithographic sheet, the study of my father, with a box of crayons, that's what my mom says. Then I had artistic education, high school and then an Academy of Fine Arts, developing in parallel with the end of the studies a keen interest in the world of illustration and, in particular, for the pop surrealism. Hence, the decision to attend a postgraduate course and a specific illustration of manic collection of papers, articles and other media did the rest. Mixing all my background in a cauldron with a passion for design I have "launched" in the working world. Your works reveal some aspect of your inner world ... I believe that the observer see my paintings as a hypothetical keyhole that opens onto a small part of my privacy. As a window into an inner world of the small details which are revealed by large but delicate forms, and these details are "hand held" in an invasive but not exposed to the viewer. The contents do not want to shock or ecstasies, but simply put an accent on a thought that is interpreted according to a subjective feeling. As for the sculpture, this concept of filter, a lock, I think that given the large volumes suspended on small footholds. Great masses, almost in balance, that if you touch could lose their balance, so never owned up to the end. My work is a very personal look at my whole inner world to which you can only peek. How are made from a technical standpoint, your sculptures? The process is a secret! I can tell you from a sketch on paper, creating a turn-around of the character, defining the details carefully. Then, based on the shape and size of the sculpture you choose the most suitable type of material, this can be clay, latex, paper up to the materials used for the model. Finally, account for a structure which is modeled on the material of choice with various tools and suitable for the technique used, the gouge precision drill and so on. Once cooked or dry the material, we proceed to color, usually acrylic. Upcoming projects. By the beginning of the year I have two different projects in the pipeline: the first is a collaboration with a writer Milan, for the creation of a children's book, this is a bizarre story about the "strange" family tree of the protagonist . The second is a solo exhibition in Magenta, my hometown. Eugenia Garavaglia Official Website
